Sophie Baird-Daniel

Seattle, WA

Harp & Artistic Director - Sponsored by Trish Morse

Sophie Baird-Daniel, the founder and artistic director of the Archipelago Collective, is a harpist based out of Seattle, Washington.  She can be heard performing regularly around the Northwest as a substitute with the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, and Pacific Northwest Ballet.  Other orchestral engagements have included the Houston Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, and the National Ballet of Canada.

Excited by all facets of musical life, Sophie spearheads several inventive projects in and around her hometown.  Sophie was the 2015 winner of the Frances Walton Competition, which culminated in an outreach tour of rural Eastern Washington reaching thousands of school-aged children.

She completed her undergraduate degree and artist diploma at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto under the tutelage of Judy Loman.  Growing up, she studied under Valerie Muzzolini of the Seattle Symphony.
